Why can't I see a feature?

A feature can be missing because your plan doesn't include it or because your role doesn't. How to tell which, and what to do.

Your words may differ. Each workspace can choose its own words: a class might be a cohort, program or group, a learner a participant, trainee or new hire, a session a module or lesson. These guides use the default words. The steps are the same whatever your workspace calls them. Change your workspace's words

If a colleague has something you can't find, there are two usual reasons: your workspace's plan doesn't include it, or your role doesn't.

Features that depend on the plan

Every report, analytic and AI feature is on every plan. These are the only features a plan can leave out:

FeaturePlan it needsWhat you'll notice without it
Custom rolesTeamManage → Roles shows Custom roles: Team plan instead of + New role
Audit logTeamNo Audit tab in Manage
Coaching and peer observationTeamNo Development or My Development in the sidebar
Team Questions boardTeamNo Questions in the sidebar. Questions can still go to a class's parking lot.
AnnouncementsTeamNo way to post one from My Notebook
Your logo and brand color, emails and certificates in your name, your own support contactBusinessManage → Workspace → Branding says Branding is available on the Business plan.
Priority supportBusinessThe plan card says Support by email instead
Manage → Roles on Solo: Custom roles: Team plan
Manage → Roles on Solo: Custom roles: Team plan
The Branding card on Team: Branding is available on the Business plan
The Branding card on Team: Branding is available on the Business plan

To check your plan, ask an Admin to open Manage → Workspace. The plan card lists what's Included and what each bigger plan adds. See What's in each plan.

Features that depend on your role

Your role decides what you can see and change. Your role's name is under your name at the bottom of the sidebar. For example:

  • Analytics is only there for roles that include analytics. Admins have it.
  • Manage is only there for roles that can manage users or the catalog.
  • Read-only roles, such as Supervisor, don't see Tasks, My Notebook or the buttons that create and change things, like New class.
  • Development is for roles that coach trainers. Other trainers see My Development instead (on Team and Business).

Admins can change what a role includes. See Roles and permissions.
