Glossary
Every Skovrum term in one place, plus the attendance codes, ratings, health labels and question statuses you'll see on screen.
Your words may differ. Each workspace can choose its own words: a class might be a cohort, program or group, a learner a participant, trainee or new hire, a session a module or lesson. These guides use the default words. The steps are the same whatever your workspace calls them. Change your workspace's words
The words Skovrum uses, in alphabetical order, with a link to the full guide for each. Your workspace may use different words for class, learner, trainer and session; see Your workspace may use different words.

Attendance codes
The roster and attendance log show each learner's attendance as a short code. See Take attendance.
| Code | Means |
|---|---|
| P | Present |
| L | Late |
| A | Absent |
| E | Excused |
| UEL | Early Leave: the learner left before the end |
| — | Not yet: the session hasn't happened |
A learner who was absent or excused missed that session's topics, and one who left early missed part of them. See Missed topics and catch-ups.
Ratings
Observations and daily progress ratings use the same five-point scale.
| Rating | Label |
|---|---|
| 1 | Needs Improvement |
| 2 | Developing |
| 3 | Meeting Expectations |
| 4 | Exceeding |
| 5 | Exemplary |
Learner health
A learner's profile and roster card show a health label once there's something to go on: attendance, ratings or a certification attempt. See Learner health.
| Label | When |
|---|---|
| Needs attention | Attendance is below 80%, the average rating is 2 or lower, or a certification has been attempted but not passed |
| Thriving | None of the above, attendance is 95% or more, the average rating is 4 or more, and no certification is unpassed (a measure with no records yet doesn't count against them) |
| On track | Everyone else |
For this label, a late arrival counts as not attended and an excused absence doesn't count either way. See Learner health for why the attendance rate on a profile can differ.
Question statuses
| Status | Means |
|---|---|
| Unanswered | Waiting for an answer |
| Answered | Someone has answered it |
| Shared with class | The answer has been passed back to the learners who asked |
| Closed | Dealt with, or no longer needed |
